Q & A
How often should my piano be tuned?
Yearly works great for most situations, in some cases every 6 months is preferred when a piano gets over an hour of playing time daily.
Why does my piano go out of tune?
One Piano string create 160 pounds of pressure and there are over 200 strings one the piano. All of this pressure will make each of the tuning pins(which hold the strings) slip causing it to go out of tune. Also fluctuation in temperature will cause the wood in your piano to expand and contract creating more pressure on the strings.
What's a pitch raise?
When a piano is very flat it requires a pitch raise which is stretching the strings so they are close to standard pitch for the tuning.
How long does an appointment take?
Just over an hour if your piano has been tuned regularly. If it's been over 2-3 years your piano might require a pitch raise which takes an additional 30-45 minutes.
Pricing
$150 Piano Tuning(includes pitch raise if needed, and minor repairs like sticking keys)
$50 Cleaning (vacuuming inside the piano and under the keys) If you want just the cleaning there will be an additional travel fee depending on your area.
